852...Swine Flu And You 93.1 And The Citizen

Tomorrow morning I will have Matthew Buechler in to talk about the fears he and many of you have about the flu vaccines being distributed.

The online Ottawa Citizen just sent me a piece on the swine flu vaccine that leads with this: "Ottawa’s schoolyards could become battlegrounds this fall as public health officials hustle to get a pandemic shot into children’s arms."

A bit of hyperbole but nonetheless many people are vexed about this issue and "Ottawa public health officials are drawing up plans to get maximum coverage for 900,000 residents once the vaccine becomes available mid-November. They have not yet released details, but say they may rely on the system used to deliver the seasonal flu vaccine that includes vaccination clinics and family doctors."

This is a major issue that concerns all of us; for more insight be certain to tune in to 93.1 tomorrow at 6 am.

  1. I, for one, will pass on the vaccination. I do not believe it will help me any more than simply washing my hands and not getting coughed on.

Swine Flu or H1N1 is this year's Y2K: all hype, no impact on our day to day lives.

Nothing is ever an 'issue' unless it hits close to home, eh?! :p
