When it comes to cool stories, the person the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin turns to is Melissa Pinion-Whitt and she dropped this story about an hour ago.
It seems that it is a bad idea, bad as in not good, to dry one's clothes in the microwave. In a test a man in Claremont, California tried to micro dry a jacket of his at lunch time and it started a fire. Something about the metal zipper.
When the fire started the dude freaked a bit and tossed the microwave out onto the lawn of his apartment complex and that got the police involved and ultimately alerted the cool story person, Melissa Pinion-Whitt.
Lesson learned.
