That is what they call him in the National Post/Financial Post today, him being Jim Shaw, chief exec of Shaw Communications who took control of Global yesterday for a bargain basement price.
The question I have is will Mr. Shaw run the stations in the zero sum and fearful way Canadian TV stations have been run into the ground for ever or will he follow the more successful United States model and increase the value of his stations expodentially.
He is getting a ton of major and medium market stations; for example a prime over the air station, like I do believe he is getting, in a major market the size of Toronto, would sell for a multiple adjacent to ten over the price he is paying for the whole kit and kaboodle.
