2146...Another Reason To Love Canada

Liquor moves quicker: alcohol sales up in Canada.

That was the headline in yesterday's National Post.

Bit of a cheat though coz part of the rise in alcohol consumption was the fact that booze is measured by how much we buy, cashola wise, and if, for example, you are buying beer anywhere but La Belle you are paying beaucoup too much for it.

Still "Beer and liquor stores sold $19.4-billion worth of alcohol by the end of March 2009, 3% more than the previous year."

Lo and behold "Beer remains by far the most popular alcoholic beverage in Canada -- by both volume and dollar value...In 1993, beer peaked at 53% of dollar sales compared to wine which accounted for 18 per cent. Last year, the market share of beer had dropped to 46%, while wine jumped to 29%, figures show."

I like beer.
