I mean class action. Only in Indiana would this happen. The Indianapolis Star reports that "An Indianapolis man is suing a convenience store chain for the $11.5 million lottery jackpot he says he would have won if a clerk had sold him a ticket.
Charles Andrews, 70, says he had picked the winning numbers for the February 2008 drawing, but workers at the Speedway store refused to sell him a ticket with a few minutes left before the sales cutoff."
Buddy says there wasn't enough time to go to another store but that he signed his play slip and left it with the store so he would have proof in case they were the winning numbers. They hit.
The store's parent company, Speedway SuperAmerica LLC, has denied in court filings any responsibility for Andrews not winning.
Lawyers are, of course, to profit from this brouhaha.
