5898...Guns Versus Terrorists

All rational beings with access to the 'net know that empirically speaking guns cause far more damage in the US of A than terrorism does.  To the power of.  Yet for some reason Americans [and Canucks too] are more worried about getting blown up by a terrorist than getting shot even though the latter is more likely than the former.

The Guardian, a lovely progressive fish wrap from Manchester, England, points out that last year 17 Americans died in terrorist attacks.  30,000 Yankees got kilt by guns.

The Guardian goes on to note that "The same day of the marathon bombing in Boston, 11 Americans were murdered by guns. The pregnant Breshauna Jackson was killed in Dallas, allegedly by her boyfriend. In Richmond, California, James Tucker III was shot and killed while riding his bicycle – assailants unknown. Nigel Hardy, a 13-year-old boy in Palmdale, California, who was being bullied in school, took his own life. He used the gun that his father kept at home. And in Brooklyn, New York, an off-duty police officer used her department-issued Glock 9mm handgun to kill herself, her boyfriend and her one-year old child."

It is a weird ordering of fears.
